Ne-Chee Friendship Centre provides a comprehensive range of programs to support the Indigenous community in Kenora. Our programs are grouped into categories to address specific areas, such as youth development, health, employment, and justice.
Our Children & Youth Programs support the development, health, and well-being of Indigenous children and youth. These programs foster resilience, cultural pride, and community connection.
Indigenous Healthy Babies Program
This program supports the healthy development of Indigenous babies from birth to age 6 through family visits, education, and access to intervention services.
Aboriginal Family Support Program
Provides culturally based support for families with young children, offering parenting programs, nutrition workshops, and community-building activities.
Indigenous EarlyON Program
EarlyON Centres provide safe spaces for families with young children (ages 0-6) to connect and participate in developmental activities rooted in Indigenous culture.
Akwe:go Children’s Program
Aims to foster healthy choices and cultural pride among at-risk Indigenous children ages 7-12, providing them with the support they need to succeed.
Youth Life Promotion Program
Designed to help at-risk youth reclaim their cultural identity through land-based activities and traditional teachings, fostering wholistic well-being.
Wasa-Nabin Youth Program
Supports Indigenous youth (ages 13-18) in building life skills, promoting healthy choices, and fostering self-development through culturally relevant activities.

Our Health Programs promote holistic health and well-being for the Indigenous community, with a focus on traditional healing, life skills, and cultural connections.
Indigenous Healing & Wellness Program
Supports individuals and families affected by violence, providing crisis intervention, traditional support, and long-term healing action plans.
Cultural Resource Program
Focuses on cultural knowledge and connections, providing access to teachings and practices that promote healing and reconciliation.
Lifelong Care Program
Offers social and health support for elders and individuals with disabilities, including transportation, advocacy, and wellness activities.
Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living Program
Promotes healthier lifestyles through fitness classes, nutrition workshops, smoking cessation support, and land-based programming for all ages.
Mental Health and Addictions
We provide culturally relevant Mental Health and Addiction interventions and support for Indigenous people. This program has an enhanced focus on Indigenous women in conflict with the law.
Our Justice Programs offer culturally respectful alternatives to traditional justice approaches, focusing on healing, rehabilitation, and community reintegration.
Indigenous Community Justice Program (ICJP)
A pre- and post-charge diversion program where participants create a Healing Plan that addresses offenses through cultural methods.
Restorative Justice Liaison Program
Works with law enforcement to provide pre-charge diversion options, reducing overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the justice system.
Indigenous Courtworker Program
Assists Indigenous individuals in court, providing guidance, advocacy, and support to help clients make informed decisions within the justice system.
Bail Residency Program
Offers housing, meals, and programming for individuals on bail who are unable to return to their communities, providing a stable environment for reintegration.
